Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been achieved on hard courts

A comeback the Russian player claimed his maiden trophy for over two years with a win over Corentin Moutet in the competition final.

Medvedev, a ex- number one, has experienced a difficult season, managing just one win at the Grand Slams and experiencing a difficult moment at the New York tournament.

Medvedev's unpredictability on the tennis tour - and struggles with his serve in particular - led to him falling of the top ten and finally parting ways with former trainer Cervara.

Now training with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has gradually advanced in the last few weeks - peaking in a closely contested three-set victory over Frenchman Moutet.

This marks the player's first championship after the Italian tournament and maiden on a hardcourt since March of the previous year.

The win also indicates he has achieved 21 titles at 21 different competitions.

"This marks the first occasion I have attended a event with my two daughters together, so to secure a trophy is particularly special," stated tennis professional Medvedev.

"This title is in tribute of my child my daughter, because the maiden victory I won when my first daughter her name was born was for her."

The tennis star, the former major winner, had been defeated in his past six finals, including in that event earlier this year.

His counter-punching strategy and frequent reactions on the tennis court had caused observers to question if his skill to compete at the highest level was finished.

However the player has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, making an effort to approach the net and compete positively, backed up by an better service.

Medvedev recovered from a disadvantage in the opening set against the tricky Frenchman, taking four of the concluding five games to go ahead.

The competitors traded breaks in the following set before Moutet, bidding for his maiden tour victory, seized the initiative to push for a final set.

Moutet defended 4 early-game chances in a close third set before the Russian secured a break to that score to close out the victory.

Fittingly, he secured the win with a shot at the front of the court, with Moutet unable to handle a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
